Join our Maintenance team keeping the electrical systems behind our mining and processing operation running — from crushing and processing equipment to plant infrastructure. This is a hands-on role with real ownership at a growing site, working directly with the Maintenance Manager to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain critical electrical systems. On-site furnished housing and free meals included, on a 7-on/7-off schedule.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment across the site. This role supports safe and reliable operations by ensuring electrical infrastructure, plant equipment, and facilities operate efficiently and in compliance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
The Maintenance Electrician works closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to minimize downtime, support commissioning and startup activities, and maintain the electrical integrity of site equipment and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
· Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components including motors, drives, PLCs, lighting, and control systems.
· Diagnose electrical faults in plant equipment and implement timely corrective actions.
· Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
· Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
· Ensure electrical work is completed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
Equipment & Systems Support
· Maintain electrical systems associated with processing equipment, pumps, conveyors, crushers, and auxiliary systems.
· Support instrumentation, motor control centers (MCCs), and power distribution systems.
· Assist with commissioning, startup, and testing of new equipment and systems.
· Work collaboratively with operations to troubleshoot equipment issues and minimize downtime.
Safety & Compliance
· Follow all site safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
· Ensure proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed during maintenance activities.
· Identify potential electrical hazards and implement corrective measures.
· Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and hazard assessments.
· Preventive Maintenance & Documentation
· Execute preventive maintenance schedules for electrical systems and equipment.
· Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
· Assist with development and improvement of maintenance procedures and electrical standards.
Team Collaboration
· Work closely with maintenance technicians, operators, and supervisors to coordinate maintenance activities.
· Provide technical support and guidance to other team members when needed.
· Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications
Required
· 3–5+ years of experience in industrial, mining, manufacturing, or heavy equipment environments.
· Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motors, drives, and control circuits.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
· Experience troubleshooting electrical systems in a production environment.
Preferred
· Experience in mining or mineral processing operations.
· Experience working with PLC systems and instrumentation.
· Experience with motor control centers (MCCs) and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
· MSHA training or willingness to obtain.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to work in an outdoor industrial environment in varying weather conditions.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated areas as needed.
Work Environment
· Industrial mining or processing environment.
· May require working rotating shifts, weekends, or extended hours during shutdowns or startup activities.
