Description

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides pediatric occupational therapy services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist within a play-based, child-led environment at Milestones Play Gym & Pediatric Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist

• Provide 1:1 and small group therapy sessions

• Support development of sensory processing, regulation, fine motor, motor planning, and functional skills

• Facilitate engagement within dynamic, movement-based therapy spaces, including Integrated Therapy™ environments

• Monitor and document client progress

• Communicate session updates and basic strategies to caregivers

• Prepare materials and maintain an organized, safe therapy environment

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support consistent care

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

• Active state licensure and NBCOT certification

• Pediatric experience preferred

• Experience with autism and sensory-based therapy strongly preferred

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, play-based, and less structured environment

• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills

Compensation & Growth Opportunity

Compensation is structured at $30 per session (1099 contractor), with estimated hourly equivalent earnings of approximately $25–$40/hour depending on schedule consistency and caseload.

Opportunities are available to increase earnings through expanded scheduling, participation in group programming, and clinic growth.

This position offers the opportunity to build toward a consistent schedule, with potential transition into part-time or full-time (W2) employment based on performance, caseload development, and clinic needs.

Salary

$25 - $40 per hour
