Mile Higher Media is seeking a Script Writer & Researcher for our Lights Out podcast. You'll research and write compelling long-form scripts covering true crime, paranormal events, and unexplained phenomena. This role requires producing one 5,000-10,000 word script weekly, maintaining rigorous accuracy standards, and occasionally appearing on camera.

Description

What you’ll be doing

Researching true crime cases, paranormal stories, and other unexplained topics using credible sources


Writing long-form scripts that are clear, engaging, and easy to follow, typically between 5,000 and 10,000 words


Producing at least one script per week while maintaining accuracy and strong storytelling


Going through viewer-submitted cases and helping identify which ones are worth covering


Working with the team to shape episodes and refine story direction


Occasionally joining on camera during recordings to add context or commentary


What we’re looking for

A Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing, Journalism, or a closely related field


At least 3 years of writing and research experience


Someone based in the Denver-metro area who can work in a hybrid setup


A genuine interest in true crime, the paranormal, and long-form storytelling


Strong attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy


Someone who can manage their time well and consistently hit deadlines


Clear communication skills and the ability to work both independently and with a team


Willingness to sign an NDA


Nice to have

Experience writing for or producing podcasts


Familiarity with YouTube or digital content production


A good sense of pacing and what keeps an audience hooked over a full episode
