Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Flooring Installer to oversee and perform the installation of a wide range of flooring products including vinyl, tile, carpet, broadloom, wood, and other surfaces. This role requires both technical skill and leadership ability to manage crew members, coordinate with other trades, and ensure high-quality results that meet project timelines and specifications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, flooring layouts, and finish schedules to determine job requirements.
  • Perform expert installation of various broadloom install methods including Direct Glue Down Method, Double Stick Method, Over Tack Strip Method, Pattern Matching, Axminister Carpets
  • Lead and supervise a team of flooring installers and helpers, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to specification.
  • Prepare surfaces for installation, including leveling subfloors, applying adhesives, and performing moisture tests.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, other trades, and clients to ensure a smooth installation process.
  • Monitor job site safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of material usage, labor hours, and project progress.
  • Train and mentor new team members on flooring installation techniques and safety practices.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met and perform punch list corrections as needed.
  • Maintain and properly store tools, equipment, and materials.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience installing broadloom flooring in a commercial setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of flooring tools, adhesives, moisture testing, and layout procedures.
  • Ability to read construction documents and follow product specifications.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, kneel for extended periods, and work in active construction environments.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Frequently works in commercial, or government construction sites.
  • May be exposed to dust, adhesives, and loud noise.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and lift throughout the workday.
