Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to oversee and execute all aspects of carpentry work on residential and/or commercial construction projects. The Lead Carpenter will supervise crews, coordinate with subcontractors, ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications, and maintain high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency on the job site.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Plan and execute layout, measurements, and materials take-offs.
  • Lead a crew of carpenters and laborers, providing on-site direction and mentorship.
  • Perform framing, trim, cabinetry, and other skilled carpentry tasks with precision and quality.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure materials, timelines, and project goals are met.
  • Enforce job site safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and project specifications are met.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanliness and organization.
  • Troubleshoot on-site issues and provide practical, timely solutions.
  • Track labor hours, material usage, and project progress for reporting purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of hands-on carpentry experience
  • Proficiency in all phases of carpentry including rough framing, finish work, and punch-out.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and operate hand and power tools.
  • Standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods is required.


Salary

$20 - $27 per hour
