The Optometric Technician assists the optometrist with patient care by performing preliminary testing, obtaining patient medical and ocular histories, preparing patients for examinations, and supporting the clinical and administrative operations of the eye care practice.
Assist the optometrist with patient care by preparing patients for examinations, obtaining medical and vision histories, performing preliminary testing such as visual acuity, tonometry, and autorefraction, documenting results in electronic medical records, assisting with contact lens training, and maintaining clean, organized examination areas. Provide friendly patient service and assist with scheduling and other office duties as needed.
Desired Skills: Strong communication and customer-service skills, attention to detail, professionalism, reliability, teamwork, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills and willingness to learn ophthalmic equipment and procedures are preferred. Previous optometry or healthcare experience is a plus.
