MRI Technologist needed for a 13-week travel assignment in Alaska, with the potential for extension. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience operating Siemens and GE MRI units, with Hitachi unit experience being a plus. This position is in a fast-paced outpatient Radiology Facility, where the technologist will be responsible for performing all types of MRI scans independently.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operating the MRI scanner, selecting and adjusting equipment settings, and ensuring proper functioning

- Preparing patients for MRI scans, explaining the procedure, ensuring comfort, and positioning correctly

- Prioritizing patient safety during the scan, monitoring well-being, and addressing any concerns

- Capturing high-quality images as instructed by a physician, ensuring accuracy and clarity

- Assisting in evaluating images for accuracy and clarity, and possibly analyzing images with the radiologist

- Educating patients on the MRI procedure and addressing any questions or concerns

- Maintaining MRI equipment, including calibration and testing

- Adhering to MRI safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment

- Documenting patient records and relevant information

- Collaborating closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals

Physical Demands/Environment Factors:

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently

- Physical agility and quick reaction time to respond to patient care needs

- Adequate hearing, visual acuity, and color vision

- Fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and ability to handle objects

- Proper body mechanics for assisting patients with mobility

- Lift up to 75 pounds

- Use standard precautions for exposure to blood and bodily fluids

- Effective communication skills through reading, writing, and speaking

- Periodic use of personal computers

Minimum Qualifications:

- National certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist
