Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled VDC Engineer with a strong architectural background to join our team and lead the integration of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) processes across construction and facility management projects. The ideal candidate brings 5–10 years of hands-on experience delivering construction projects and leveraging Building Information Modeling (BIM) for both project execution and ongoing facility operations.

This role plays a critical part in aligning design intent with construction realities and post-occupancy facility needs through the application of advanced digital tools and workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and coordinate BIM models across project phases, ensuring alignment with construction and facility management requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, general contractors, and facility stakeholders to facilitate model-based project delivery and data handover.
  • Perform clash detection, constructability reviews, and sequencing analysis using VDC tools.
  • Lead the development of BIM deliverables to support facility management systems (e.g., COBie, asset data integration, digital turnover).
  • Enforce VDC standards, best practices, and QA/QC protocols across teams.
  • Support field implementation of VDC tools and provide model-based workflows for construction coordination.
  • Train internal and external stakeholders on VDC tools and processes.
  • Utilize BIM data to improve building lifecycle performance, space utilization, and maintenance planning.

Qualifications

  • While a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, or a related field, is preferred, candidates with equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 5–10 years of experience in the AEC industry with a focus on construction and digital project delivery.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), including modules like Docs, Build, Coordinate, and Takeoff.
  • Advanced knowledge of BIM authoring and analysis tools such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience implementing BIM for Facility Management and integrating with CMMS/IWMS platforms (e.g., Maximo, Archibus, Planon).
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO 19650, COBie, LOD).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience coordinating across disciplines.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities; capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience in utilizing point clouds and scan data for developing Revit models in Scan-to-BIM projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Autodesk or industry-recognized BIM/VDC certifications (e.g., Revit Certified Professional, CM-BIM).
  • Experience in design-build or integrated project delivery (IPD) environments.
  • Familiarity with digital twin strategies or smart building systems.
