We are seeking a BSN-prepared Registered Nurse to support the delivery of full-spectrum outpatient women's healthcare. This nurse will work directly alongside our Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) and integrative care team in an ambulatory/office-based role focused on gynecologic, reproductive, maternal, and primary women's health services. πΏ Position Summary
This Registered Nurse will provide direct clinical nursing support to the WHNP and integrative care team within a cultural care model grounded in love and community. The nurse will work collaboratively to deliver holistic, patient-centered care that honors both Anishinaabe healing traditions and evidence-based western medicine.
The ideal candidate understands the strengths and unique health needs of American Indian people, including the health consequences of systemic inequities rooted in colonization, and the protective power of cultural connection, community bonds, and traditional ways of knowing.
πΏ Key Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments and assist the WHNP with well-woman examinations, prenatal visits, and in-office gynecologic procedures
- Provide patient education on prenatal care, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding/chestfeeding, contraception, perimenopause, menopause, and preventive health
- Provide lactation education, counseling, and hands-on breastfeeding support
- Conduct perinatal mood disorder screening and coordinate supportive follow-up, including warm handoffs to behavioral health and traditional wellness resources
- Triage patient concerns, coordinate referrals, and manage care transitions with delivering providers and specialists
- Perform specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and coordinate laboratory and imaging orders
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Coordinate care across the integrative team β doulas, midwives, lactation counselors, traditional healers, nutritionist, and clinical providers β ensuring continuity and follow-through
- Support quality improvement initiatives, data collection, and clinic evaluation activities
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and collaborative care planning

πΏ Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota (or eligibility for licensure)
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in women's health, maternal health, community health, or primary care
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience working with American Indian / Alaska Native communities, or demonstrated commitment to learning and serving within an Anishinaabe-led healthcare setting

- Experience providing nursing care in American Indian/Alaska Native health populations or settings
- Experience working in rural healthcare settings
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about Anishinaabe culture, language, values, and healing traditions
- Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), Certified Lactation Specialist (CLS), or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
- Experience in women's health nursing, including prenatal care, gynecologic care, or menopause management
