METCALFE a growing, Philadelphia, PA based, international award-winning, experience design firm of 21 people that focuses on cultural institutions-schools, museums, arboreta, public spaces in healthcare and nature playgrounds is seeking a Senior Project Architect.

Senior Project Architect Responsibilities

(This role is roughly 70% Project Architect and 30% Project Management)


Project Architect Responsibilities (70%):

  • Assist in the development of architectural design and the preparation of construction documents including drawings and specification while collaborating with senior staff and supervising a small team.
  • Communicate with clients, consultants, engineers, and vendors to ensure coordination of project requirements and collaborate if necessary.
  • Responsible for product research and coordinating of technical aspects of the design of the project.
  • Follow client or corporate standards for project production and review.
  • Develop presentations, designs, and technical solutions through all phases of the project.
  • Produce conceptual renderings for project and presentation purposes.
  • Develop drawing sets issued for permitting, pricing, and construction during the CD phase and review shop drawings submittals during the CA phase.


Project Management Assistance Responsibilities (30%):

  • Help oversee the architectural process from initial design to the completion of construction. 
  • Manage budget for assigned projects.
  • Manage small projects to ensure client specifications and expectations are fulfilled. 
  • Maintain project files, including correspondence, drawings, and material samples. 
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of all drawings and specifications. 
  • Ensure the project follows all codes and construction standards.  
  • Communicate with clients and contractors.  
  • Assist to develop and maintain project cost reports and schedules. 
  • Assist in writing proposals and prepare RFQ and RFP response documents.  
  • Prepare construction status reports as well as monitor and update construction schedules.  
  • Attend client and zoning meetings as needed.  


Senior Project Architect Qualifications:

  • Must be a licensed Architect
  • 7-10 yrs. of architectural experience
  • Revit and CAD experience
  • Sketchup and/or Rhino experience
  • Knowledge of the construction cycle
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Adobe suite experience

Compensation range: 75K-90K

Salary

$75,000 - $90,000 per year
