Medical Biller – Cardiology Practice

Position Overview

Merced Heart Associates is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all claims are billed accurately and in a timely manner across multiple service lines.

You will manage billing for all providers, complete monthly program billing, and work closely with providers and staff to resolve issues, respond to requests, and ensure smooth, efficient billing operations.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately and promptly submit claims for all services rendered
  • Manage billing workflows for four providers
  • Complete monthly billing for programs including CCM and RPM (KenCor)
  • Communicate with providers and staff to resolve billing issues and requests
  • Ensure timely follow-up on all billing-related tasks
  • Maintain compliance with billing guidelines and payer requirements

Daily Duties

  • Office visits (all providers)
  • Echocardiograms
  • Treadmill stress tests
  • EKGs
  • Holter & MCT monitoring
  • Nuclear studies
  • In-office pacemaker checks
  • ABI testing
  • Lower extremity ultrasounds
  • KenCor (RPM enrollment & monthly billing)
  • Chronic Care Management (CCM) monthly billing
  • Loop procedures performed in office

Shared Department Responsibilities

  • Insurance Verifications:
  • Assist with verifying patient insurance coverage prior to appointments
  • Claims Management:
  • Maintain and update assigned billing folders and follow up on outstanding claims
  • Patient Support (In Office):
  • Assist patients at the billing window, answer questions, and support the billing process
  • Patient Support (Phone):
  • Handle incoming billing-related calls and ensure timely, professional responses

Qualifications

  • Certification Required: Billing Certification
  • Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Language Skills: Spanish or Punjabi is a plus

Compensation

  • $18.50 – $19.50 per hour, depending on experience
