Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide academic enrichment including areas of English, Reading, or Math and other subjects as designated to children PreK-12.
- Assists in developing students' cognitive capacity, increasing academic skill development, and respect for learning, fostering students' self-esteem and motivation through positive interaction.
- Attend scheduled meetings with the Program Director to coordinate program design, pre-and post-evaluation process, and outreach efforts.
- Obtain updates on student needs/progress reports; communicate with MPM Team regarding student progress and performance.
- Work closely with the Program Director to organize a schedule of academic and enrichment activities.
- Additional work may be required upon request from leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Teacher certification in elementary or middle school education and in reading and/or math.
- One year of classroom teaching experience is required.
- Act 33/34 & FBI Clearances, mandated reporter certification, Annual Disclosure Report, food services certification, first aid and safety training required.
- Excellent communication skills; appreciation and respect for children especially those at-risk of failure.
- Experience working with small groups or providing individual tutoring recommended.
- Ability to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Summer Hours:
Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm EST
