Founded in 2020, Meanwhile Brewing Co. is a community-driven brewery on 3.7 acres in southeast Austin, where craft beer, food, music, and culture intersect. Meanwhile produces a wide array of world-class beers, including year-round canned offerings such as Meanwhile Pilsner, Secret Beach IPA, and Tender Robot Hazy IPA. One of Austin’s largest independent breweries, we distribute throughout Central Texas, from Georgetown to San Antonio.

Our Referees are truly the heart and soul of our Leagues. We’re looking for folks that know there’s more to it than just calling the shots.  The best-of-the-best know how to see the big picture. You’re here because you are that referee – the sport-loving, score-keeping, conflict-managing, friend-making person that makes the Meanwhile experience matter.

Our Referee...

• Is passionate about the rules of the game and always looking for ways to improve our sports programs
• Stays informed with regards to the programming and events in the Taproom and connects with the team.
• Can confidently make calls during game play and has the ability to diffuse tense or emotional moments and keep spirits high.
• Works as a team and maintains an open channel of communication
• Upholds the Meanwhile culture, values, and vibe.
• Has the ability to multi-task and keeps cool under pressure.
• Regularly checks for maintenance needs.
• Cleans the game play area so that it’s ready for the next day’s excitement.
• Records all scores exactly.
• Completes notes for each league night.
• Reports any problems or potential issues to the Manager on duty.
• Manages the game equipment and ensures it is accounted for each day.
• Understands that the job role is always changing, developing, & expanding.

Requirements to Apply:

• Your schedule must be somewhat flexible and include weeknights and occasional weekends.
• Prior experience as a referee in a league format would be great but certainly not required.
• You have to be able to stand for long periods – reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting.
