The team consists of 8 full time employees: 2 dental assistants, 2 hygienists (+ 2 part time hygienists), and 4 administrative employees. We see patients of all ages, and many of them have been patients of the practice for nearly 20 years. We work in an upbeat and patient-friendly office environment and are proud to know our patients by name when they walk in the door. Our office hours are Monday through Wednesday from 8 AM to 5 PM and Thursday from 7 AM to 3 PM. Our team gathers each day for a morning huddle at 7:50 AM (Mon – Wed) and 6:50 AM (Thurs).

Job description:

General dentistry practice seeking an experienced and dependable Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. Our office is fast-paced and high-tech, so you must be willing to work hard and have excellent communication and computer skills to succeed in this position. We are highly committed to working as a team and maintaining a positive work environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Welcome patients; provide them with iPads to complete new patient forms and health history updates.
  • Handle patient’s requests quickly - return phone calls, monitor patient’s time spent in the reception room, and respond to electronic appointment requests.
  • Call patients to confirm appointments and fill schedule as openings become available.
  • Keep all patient records current - update phone numbers, addresses, medications and health history updates.
  • Verify insurance benefits and input breakdown of benefits in Dentrix.
  • Answer phone calls from existing and new patients; gather information and schedule appointments.
  • Serve as a back-up to Treatment Coordinator and present treatment plans to patients as needed.
  • Communicate with back office to verify appropriate next steps are scheduled and all patients leave with an appointment.
  • Check out patients; collect patient’s portion and post payment in patient’s account.
  • Learn to operate new office technologies as they are developed and implemented.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be familiar with dental terminology, dental records, and insurance verification procedures.
  • Team players with the ability to multitask who have strong communication, computer and customer service skills desired.
  • Minimum of one year of office experience; preferred two years of experience.
  • Dentrix experience preferred.
