We are hiring a Software Engineer to support both application software development and manufacturing testing systems for our ultrasound platform. 

This role will initially focus on building the application software that will be used in the OR, then expand into developing acoustic and electrical testing software used in manufacturing and validation environments. 

This is a highly cross-functional role working closely with hardware, systems, and engineering teams, with the opportunity to grow into ownership of testing systems over time. 

What You’ll Do 

● Develop and maintain application software supporting medical device functionality 

● Design and build manufacturing testing software for acoustic and electrical validation 

● Integrate software with hardware systems and lab equipment 

● Collaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements and translate into solutions 

● Author software requirements and software verification tests in compliance with IEC 62304 

● Contribute to software architecture and system design decisions 

● Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software interaction issues 

● Support improvements in test automation and system reliability 

What We’re Looking For 

Required: 

● Bachelor’s with 3+ years OR Master’s with 2+ years in relevant field 

● Experience in the medical device industry

○ Familiarity with the quality control process and traceability matrices 

○ Familiarity with IEC 62304 and ISO 14971 

● Strong proficiency in Python 

● Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) 

● Experience with Qt/PyQt/PySide 

● Experience with Git version control 

● Experience with GitHub and continuous integration 

● Experience working with hardware-integrated or lab-based systems 

● 2+ years of professional software engineering experience 

● Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and collaborate effectively 

Preferred: 

● Experience with multithreading 

● Experience working in a startup environment 

● Experience developing automated test frameworks for hardware components 

Compensation & Benefits 

● Base Salary: $115,000 – $180,000 

● Eligible for participation in an annual bonus plan and stock-based compensation, subject to company performance and board of directors approval
