The Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support the development of disposable ultrasound probes and associated systems, with a strong focus on verification testing, fixture design, and hands-on prototyping.


This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who is eager to learn, highly adaptable, and excited to work in a startup environment where responsibilities evolve quickly. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical and software engineering, to support product validation and system integration.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute verification test protocols in alignment with product and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with software and electrical engineering teams to align on system-level testing and requirements
  • Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation (SOLIDWORKS)
  • Support prototyping and iterative design cycles, including hands-on build and testing
  • Apply design for manufacturability (DFM) principles in collaboration with internal teams and external partners
  • Analyze test results, identify issues, and propose design improvements
  • Contribute to system integration efforts across mechanical, electrical, and software components

 

 

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS (required)
  • Hands-on experience (academic, internship, or personal projects) with:
  • 3D printing
  • Injection molding
  • CNC machining (manual machining preferred)
  • Strong foundational understanding of mechanical engineering principles
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills


Preferred:

  • Exposure to electromechanical systems or test equipment
  • Internship or co-op experience (medical device industry is a plus, not required)
  • Exposure to verification testing, test fixtures, or lab-based engineering work
  • Familiarity with FDA, ISO, or other regulated environments
  • Experience working on electromechanical systems or integrated products


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $85,000 – $105,000
  • Eligible for participation in an annual bonus plan and stock-based compensation, subject to company performance and board of directors approval
