Detailed Job Description
Institutional Supply Acquisition
- Identify and secure relationships with packaging manufacturers, converters, distributors, and recyclers
- Position Matium as a structured outlet for excess inventory, overruns, and spot production
- Understand production cycles, material inputs, and fulfillment constraints
- Convert informal brokered or relationship-based spot transactions into auction-enabled marketplace flow
- Develop adoption strategies aligned with packaging production schedules and customer commitments
Demand Aggregation & Liquidity Building
- Map downstream demand across industrial users, OEMs, contract manufacturers, and regional buyers
- Aggregate fragmented buyer demand into competitive bidding environments
- Work closely with Verified Agents to ensure consistent liquidity density
- Develop category-specific liquidity playbooks (flexible packaging, rigid containers, pallets, industrial film, etc.)
Strategic Business Development
- Leverage existing industry relationships to accelerate onboarding
- Identify inefficiencies in excess inventory distribution and fulfillment timing
- Represent Matium at packaging and supply chain industry events
- Provide real-time feedback to Product and Analytics teams to improve vertical-specific workflows
Vertical Ownership & Expansion
- Own GMV growth and supplier acquisition within industrial packaging
- Identify high-volume and high-margin subsegments
- Establish anchor suppliers to create consistent flow
- Serve as internal subject-matter expert on packaging market dynamics

- Packaging manufacturers use Matium as a recurring outlet for excess production
- Competitive bidding improves realized pricing and reduces inventory aging
- Fragmented buyer demand consolidates into structured competition
- Transaction velocity increases without operational strain
- Industrial packaging becomes a scalable vertical within the platform
Desired Skills & Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in industrial packaging, converting, distribution, or commercial leadership
- Strong understanding of packaging supply chains, fulfillment cycles, and production economics
- Existing relationships across manufacturers, OEMs, or distributors preferred
- Demonstrated ability to close institutional commercial partnerships
- Strategic mindset with ability to identify inefficiencies in excess inventory distribution
- Strong negotiation and commercial execution skills
- Comfortable operating in high-growth, infrastructure-building environments
Compensation
- Base Salary: $160,000 – $200,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Performance-based commission tied to GMV growth
