Material is building 3D printed batteries using the world’s first HYBRID3D™ battery manufacturing platform. We’re hiring a deeply skilled Staff level Battery Applications Engineer to be the lead engineer on our Battery Applications team. We are revolutionizing how batteries are developed end to end. Our capabilities allow unique solutions which the world has never seen at scale before. 

What You’ll Do

• Develop state of the art batteries utilizing our world class HYBRID3D manufacturing platform and material chemistries
• Collaborate with Material leadership and customers to identify the most critical battery requirements and how they overlap with our unique capabilities
• Advance our battery development workflows and tools
• Support leadership in prioritizing critical R&D efforts to productionize new capabilities
• Move fast. We need battery prototypes in days, not months.
• Identify critical team gaps for future hiring

What You Bring

• Multiple battery project iteration cycles from requirements to production ramp
• 7+ years of battery cell / packaging design experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Nice to Have

• 12+ years of battery cell / packaging design experience
• Advanced degree related to battery engineering
• Technical leadership experience
• Consumer Electronics packaging experience
• Electric vehicle packaging experience

This position is full-time onsite at our office in Miami, Florida.
