What You'll Do

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), you will provide outpatient psychiatric care through psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, and ongoing patient support while building meaningful relationships with patients.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and establish diagnoses.
  • Provide medication management and ongoing psychiatric treatment.
  • Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Review clinical records, laboratory results, and other relevant information to support treatment decisions.
  • Respond to refill requests, patient communications, and other clinical needs as part of managing an active patient panel.
  • Collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, and other members of the treatment team when appropriate.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Current PMHNP certification.
  • Active Michigan licensure or eligibility for licensure.
  • DEA registration or eligibility to obtain.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of patient care.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior outpatient psychiatry experience.
  • Experience with psychiatric medication management across a broad range of conditions.
  • Experience working in private practice, community mental health, telepsychiatry, or other autonomous outpatient settings.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with E/M coding, psychotherapy add-on codes, and outpatient psychiatric billing practices preferred. Training and support will be provided regarding practice-specific billing workflows and documentation standards.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

  • Competitive fee-for-service compensation model.
  • Compensation is based on a fee-for-service model, with earning potential directly tied to productivity, patient volume, scheduling preferences, and coding utilization.
  • Annual earnings currently range from approximately $95,000 to $175,000+ depending on provider performance and schedule utilization.
  • Established patient demand and strong referral sources provide the opportunity to quickly build and maintain a full schedule.
