About The Team


Our Sales Team drives growth for the business through actively pursuing new customers as well as expanding our existing accounts. They work very closely with the wider team to communicate exciting marketing activity to our clients, new product launches and much more. They are passionate about meeting sales targets and continuing to grow company revenue, profit and overall, the reputation and awareness of our brands.


About The Role



In this role, you will be crucial in the input of the sales strategy for the US market - both in the creation of the strategy and in its execution. You will be responsible for driving the sales team to achieve their targets. This includes a high level of responsiveness on their day to day queries, as well as supporting them to close out new accounts through preparation for these meetings, as well as attendance where required. You will also be required to manage any external sales relationships, such as brokers or agents, where these apply for certain customers. This includes managing KPIs and renegotiation of contracts, as well as ensuring visibility on our key accounts. Another key element of this role is to foster cohesiveness within the wider team in driving the sales team to communicate effectively to other departments. This includes, but is not limited to, marketing, account management and so on. As a skilled professional, you will lead by example to contribute to a high-performing, creative and collaborative culture.


Responsibilities



  • Direct management of and responsibility of our sales team located within the USA to meet or exceed the assigned sales targets and other objectives as may be defined in their compensation plan
  • Direct management of all broker relationships within the assigned territories - performance monitoring to KPIs, renegotiation of contracts & ensuring visibility on the key accounts via these customers
  • Management and coordination of the sales strategy for assigned territories, as well as execution of this strategy with a breakdown by brand, by channel & by region
  • Input into the budgeting process for all key accounts within assigned territories & the ongoing monitoring and execution of this to deliver the overall business results
  • Ensuring profitability at an account level with the sales team, with a focus on gross margin and management of customer trade spend and trading terms
  • Ensuring close collaboration with marketing and product management, to feedback buyer responses to our brands & to communicate white space opportunities
  • Ensuring that the sales team works hand in hand with the account management team, partnering with them for efficient execution of new vendor set up, new item set up, order management etc.
  • Reviewing and analyzing sales data to develop areas of opportunity, strength and needing improvement
  • Driving the usage of Salesforce with your team in order to effectively manage and track the performance of the sales pipeline
  • Reporting sales plans and results to senior management, makes recommendations for future objectives
  • Coordinates training sessions as needed for the sales team as well as delivering ongoing managerial direction and coaching to enable the sales team to deliver on their KPIs
  • Working with multiple functions across the global business including Operations, Production, Marketing & Brand Design, Finance, Human Resources etc.
  • Directs and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives
  • Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other key management personnel and stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications



  • Must possess 10+ years sales leadership and team management experience in the FMCG space, particularly the cosmetic/beauty or related industries
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Demonstrates aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers
  • Ability to maintain current activity and accurate forecast information
  • Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Experience with Sales, Sales Systems, Sales Reporting and Sales Analysis
  • Skilled with Salesforce
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, our team works very closely together
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • Proficiency in using Google applications (Mail, Drive, Sheets), Slack and the ability to learn Company software programs
