Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist


Location: Devens Massachusetts


Shift Availability: Day Shift, On-Call, Contractor


Monday through Friday: 9:00 to 3:30 PM, 4 days per wee


Job Overview:


We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Speech Language Pathologist to support our client at a Medical Center in Devens, Massachusetts. As a contracted Speech Language Pathologist, your primary responsibility will be to provide essential speech and language pathology services to inmates at the specified correctional facility. This role is critical in addressing communication and swallowing disorders among inmates and facilitating their rehabilitation and self-care.


Key Responsibilities:


Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of inmates to diagnose communication and swallowing disorders. Utilize various tools and techniques to determine the nature and severity of speech and language impairments.


Treatment and Therapy: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for inmates with speech and language disorders. Provide therapeutic interventions to improve communication, articulation, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.


Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate records of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation in accordance with professional and BOP standards.


Education and Counseling: Offer counseling and education to inmates and their families about speech and language disorders, therapeutic techniques, and strategies for improvement.


Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and mental health providers, to coordinate care and ensure the overall well-being of inmates.


Compliance: Adhere to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, as well as BOP policies and procedures, to ensure that services are delivered in a compliant and ethical manner.


Reports: Prepare regular reports on the progress of inmates' therapy, outcomes, and any challenges encountered during the treatment process.


Equipment and Resources: Ensure the appropriate use and maintenance of specialized equipment and resources required for speech-language pathology services.


Qualifications and Requirements:


  • Hold a valid and current license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist.


  • Possess a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.


  • Experience working with individuals with communication and swallowing disorders is preferred.


  • Knowledge of and compliance with all relevant professional and ethical standards for speech-language pathology.


  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as this role involves working closely with inmates, colleagues, and other stakeholders.


  • The ability to adapt to the unique environment and security protocols of a federal correctional facility.

Salary

$53 - $56 per hour
