Job Title: Senior Copywriter

Reports to: CEO

Location: A Remote position with periodic on-site or photoshoot requirements in the Long Beach, CA area

FLSA Status: Part-time, Non-Exempt

Compensation: Hourly

Job Brief

We are looking for a creative Copywriter to write clear and concise copy for ads, social media, and websites. Your words will inform and engage target audiences.

Our ideal candidate is a team-spirited, skilled, and imaginative writer with an eye for detail. If you can grasp project requirements quickly and offer valuable insight, we’d like to meet you.

This role requires a strong writer and storyteller who builds relationships with agency clients and creates an effective marketing strategy through written content for social media, websites, and email marketing campaigns that tells their story.

The ability to pivot is critical; you can change the voice and tone of your copy as needed. You can write straightforward verbiage about complex topics and fun and engaging copy, depending on a client’s needs. You can understand the complex subject matter and simplify it in your writing. You see this as a challenge, and not as a hurdle.

As a member of the Margaux Team, you get to know the agency’s clients and work to develop and execute content strategies that help shape their stories, distributing that content over a variety of marketing platforms.

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to understand several subject matters and simplify them for the reader
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and tracking documents for projects

You must be comfortable with social media channels, WordPress, and email marketing. 


  • Writing monthly social media calendars for multiple clients
  • Coordinating with clients to rotate content and maintain all marketing calendars
  • Write content for paid advertising campaigns
  • Write clear, attractive copy with a distinct voice per account
  • Interpret copywriting briefs to understand project requirements
  • Collaborate with designers, PR, clients, and other professionals on large- and small-scale marketing projects (e.g. email campaigns and landing pages)
  • Track posts to ensure a variety of content and not repetitive
  • Conduct high-quality research and interviews
  • Edit and proofread copy as needed to include any written content
  • Use SEO principles to maximize copy’s reach
  • Develop social media strategy briefs
  • Stay on top of current social media trends
  • Assist with the analysis of social data and metrics to continually improve clients’ social strategy.

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • English or Journalism Degree or equivalent work experience
  • English Writing (Required)
  • Proficient with Google Suite
  • Marketing: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Agency Experience (Preferred)
