Senior Copywriter

Part-Time (30 hours weekly)


We’re looking for a journalist to join our team as a Copywriter. Are you an exceptional writer and storyteller who wants to explore putting those skills to work in the world of digital marketing? We’d like to talk.


As a member of our team, you will build relationships with our clients, write blogs, website content, social media calendars (a full month for several clients), and newsletter content that helps tell their story. You will do a lot of writing, and you will need to know how the content you produce fits into a larger marketing plan.


At Margaux, you will be part of a driven, hard-working team with a very flexible schedule, hybrid work-from-home, and occasionally in-person.

You must be comfortable with social media channels, WordPress, and email marketing. 


Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Journalism Degree or equivalent work experience
  • English Writing (Required)
  • Marketing: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Agency Experience (Preferred)

Job Brief

We are looking for a creative Copywriter to write clear and concise copy for ads, social media, and websites. Your words will inform and engage target audiences.


Our ideal candidate is a team-spirited, skilled, and imaginative writer with an eye for detail. If you can grasp project requirements quickly and offer valuable insight, we’d like to meet you.

This role requires a strong writer and storyteller who builds relationships with agency clients and creates an effective marketing strategy through written content for social media, websites, and email marketing campaigns that tells their story.


The ability to pivot is critical; you are able to change the voice and tone of your copy as needed. You can write both straightforward verbiage about complex topics and fun and engaging copy, depending on a client’s needs. You are able to understand the complex subject matter and simplify it in your writing. You see this as a challenge, and not as a hurdle.


As a member of the Margaux Team, you get to know the agency’s clients and work to develop and execute content strategies that help shape their stories, distributing that content over a variety of marketing platforms.


Responsibilities

  • Writing monthly social media calendars for multiple clients
  • Coordinating with clients to rotate content and maintain all marketing calendars
  • Write content for paid advertising campaigns
  • Write clear, attractive copy with a distinct voice per account
  • Interpret copywriting briefs to understand project requirements
  • Collaborate with designers, PR, clients, and other professionals on large- and small-scale marketing projects (e.g. email campaigns and landing pages)
  • Conduct high-quality research and interviews
  • Edit and proofread copy as needed
  • Use SEO principles to maximize copy’s reach
  • Source images and other content
  • Develop social media strategy briefs


Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, occasionally weekend content creation no more than 1 hour


Work Location

Remote, occasionally in-person in Long Beach, California (must be within 25 miles of Long Beach)

Salary

$25 - $25 per hour
