POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sr. Account Manager ensures agency’s client needs are met by monitoring and guiding account activities and by maintaining an effective level of direct contact with clients. Reporting to and working closely with the VP of Strategy & Accounts, the Sr. Account Manager bears responsibility for accounts growth and profitability, and for developing members of the account team as required. The position requires a solid background in mid- to senior-level marketing positions and/or demonstrated superior performance as an account manager. Advanced verbal and written skills, analytical thinking skills, personal organization skills, and knowledge of interpersonal dynamics are required.


In addition, the Sr. Account Manager must demonstrate the ability and knowledge in marketing tactics, projects, strategic plans, and media plans. The Sr. Account Manager must also fully understand and research assigned clients’ industry to gain awareness of specific market trends and issues. The Sr. Account Manager must possess personnel management abilities, encompassing team-building and mentoring skills. A clear understanding of today’s marketing and advertising business is essential for this position.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Works with VP of Strategy & Accounts to develop marketing plans and key tactics for assigned clients.
  • Handles day-to-day activities and execution for assigned clients, including project management and timelines, budget management, time and scope accuracy and quality of deliverables.
  • Provides monthly reports on client activities and other accomplishments toward delivering value and meeting client goals.
  • Develops media briefs and works with media team to represent voice of client in planning.
  • Reviews creative campaign concepts to ensure strategic marketing objectives remain in focus.
  • Tracks effectiveness of assigned campaigns or projects per approved marketing strategy and scope.
  • Participates in agency/client negotiations.
  • Keeps apprised of clients’ brands/products/services/marketing/industry developments.
  • Establishes positive relationships with client personnel, including c-suite and day-to-day contacts.
  • Takes required actions to ensure that client relations are positive and stable, and the agency leadership is immediately informed of any potential issues with client/agency relations, budget overruns, delays, etc.
  • Seeks out new business opportunities for assigned accounts and plays a leading role in their development, including estimate creation, planning, etc.
  • Guides account team members in career and skills development as required.
  • Evaluates account team member performance as required.
  • Attends networking functions with local business entities/chambers of commerce to establish new business leads and promote agency brand.
  • Responds to all client questions and/or issues in a timely manner.
  • ·      Performs other account management duties as deemed necessary by agency leadership.


PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years of marketing strategy and management experience.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite and basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to multi-task, learn quickly, and respond positively to change.
  • Must have a positive collaborative attitude; must also have the ability work well with principals, staff, clients, and other outside contacts.
  • Must have an ability to maintain high-level professional relationships.
  • Must have an understanding and appreciation of marketing and design.
  • 2+ years experience managing and leading team members.


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT(S)

A completed four-year undergraduate degree in Advertising, Marketing, English, Business, Communications, or similar field of study is required.


CAREER PATH

This position has the opportunity to grow into a Head of Accounts role over the next 12 months, assuming the candidate meets all the criteria required of that management level role.


WORK REQUIREMENTS

Work is normally sedentary and performed in a climate-controlled office environment. However, there are occasions when work will be performed in outside local locations and is subject to seasonal extremes of heat, humidity, and/or cold. Some activities may include work travel. Some work activities may entail extended periods of standing or walking. Occasional lifting of materials/equipment up to 25 lbs. may be required.

The following equipment will be used in the conduct of daily business: Laptop, desktop computer(s), mouse, keyboard; commercial art and graphic design hardware, software, and peripherals; tablet(s); personal cellular phone; copier; and scanner.

Salary

$85,000 - $100,000 per year
