About Mapistry
Mapistry ensures industrial and manufacturing companies run their environmental programs with clarity, confidence, and accuracy. We replace chaotic spreadsheets, siloed data, and complex compliance workflows with software for environmental and operations teams.
We’re a small, collaborative, high-intensity team that values organization, sharp thinking, bias for action, and people who take ownership of outcomes.
The Role
We’re looking for a Lead Solutions Engineer (part project manager, part builder) who loves puzzles, solves problems independently, manages multi-projects, and learns at a pace that unlocks new possibilities for customers and for Mapistry.
This role owns the technical heart of onboarding: mapping complex spreadsheets and environmental programs into our platform, structuring customer projects, and ensuring every implementation runs smoothly and accurately. You will lead customer meetings, own tracking project deliverables, maintain clear documentation, and proactively move work forward.
If you are energized by untangling complexity, organizing chaos, and designing elegant solutions and you want to grow quickly, this role is for you. We are looking to bring on someone with project/client management experience, technical (logic skills and environmental domain knowledge), and a high level of ownership.
Environmental domain expertise is a plus, not a prerequisite. We care more about how you think than what you already know
⸻
What You’ll Do
- Own end-to-end onboarding projects: kickoff, requirements, configuration, delivery, and go-live.
- Translate customer data, spreadsheets, calculations, and forms into the Mapistry platform. You should enjoy decoding complexity and working directly with relational data structures, SQL, and Excel-based spreadsheets to understand customer data models and rebuild them as logs, workflows, calculations, and reports.
- Solve technical problems independently. You love a good puzzle.
- Run highly organized customer meetings with clear agendas, up-to-date project trackers, structured notes, and crisp follow-ups.
- Configure dashboards, workflows, and integrations using your analytical and systems-thinking skills.
- Learn fast and apply new knowledge immediately to future scenarios, your learning curve is steep and continuous.
- Collaborate with Product by surfacing gaps, new use cases, and opportunities for improvement.
- Bring a new dimension to our team, whether it’s deeper analytics, creative workflow design, systems thinking, or something we don’t even know we need yet.
⸻
Who You Are
- Excited by solving puzzles and fearless with complexity. A 20-tab spreadsheet with nested formulas doesn’t scare you, it excites you.
- Exceptionally smart and curious. You understand new concepts quickly and apply them almost immediately.
- Independent problem solver. An Owner. You take initiative, investigate root causes, and propose and execute on solutions in ambiguous environments.
- Experienced with customer relationships, Customer-driven. You have led client/customer facing projects. You care deeply about solving real problems for real people in industrial and manufacturing environments.
- Organized to your core. You run meetings with agendas, keep impeccable notes, and manage timelines with discipline.
- Clear communicator. You’re comfortable navigating direct or challenging customer conversations, especially around requirements, timelines, and data quality. You can push projects forward with clarity and professionalism.
- Experience with BI tools (Sigma, PowerBI, Tableau, Looker), SQL, and/or scripting (Python/Javascript).
- 4+ years in a fast-paced environment (startup or consulting)
- 2+ years of client facing project management
- High-intensity work ethic. You get things done, move quickly, and push projects across the finish line.
Bonus Points
- Experience in SaaS implementations or onboarding
- Experience with other EHS systems, such as Sphera OpsInfo, Enablon AQS, Cority Enviance, Intelex ACTS
- Environmental, manufacturing, or regulatory background
- Familiarity with air permits, stormwater, wastewater, TRI, SPCC, waste, or other compliance programs
- API / integration experience
