PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

The After Care Teacher supports the daily operations of the after-school program by helping provide a structured, safe, and welcoming environment for students. This role assists with student supervision, activity coordination, behavior support, and classroom organization while encouraging positive social interaction and personal growth. The After Care Teacher serves as a positive Christian role model and contributes to a team-oriented atmosphere that reflects the mission and values of Mannahouse Christian Academy.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience working with children in a school, daycare, camp, or ministry setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Reliable, responsible, and committed to consistent attendance.
  • Ability to supervise children safely in group settings.
  • A collaborative and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to the needs of the program.
  • A strong love for Jesus and a desire to instill Christian values in young children.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports directly to the Campus Principal 


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and actively engage with students in both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Assist with daily routines such as snack distribution, transitions, and cleanup.
  • Support aftercare activities including crafts, games, homework time, and group projects.
  • Promote positive behavior through encouragement, redirection, and consistent expectations.
  • Help maintain a safe environment by monitoring students and reporting any concerns to the lead teacher.
  • Assist in enforcing school rules, policies, and aftercare procedures.
  • Model Christian values, respect, and kindness in all interactions.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff when needed.
  • Support the lead teacher with record-keeping, materials preparation, and room organization.
  • Participate in staff meetings or training as required.


SCHEDULE

Part-Time; 15 hrs/week, M-F afternoons (2:45pm - 6:00 pm) or as scheduled


Salary

$17.13 - $17.13 per hour
