Job Title: Long-Term Substitute Teacher (5th Grade)

Location: Vancouver Campus

Schedule: 40 hrs/week, Monday-Friday

Duration: late August - early November, 2026

Reports to: Campus Principal


Position Overview

This full-time role will provide instruction to elementary students while maintaining a positive, engaging classroom environment that supports student creativity and growth.

This position is temporary but offers a valuable opportunity to join our school community. The role may have the potential to convert to a full-time, benefit-eligible teaching position in the fall for next school year if the candidate is a strong fit for our program.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for 5th grade students
  • Create a positive and structured classroom environment that encourages creativity and participation
  • Prepare lesson plans aligned with school curriculum and learning objectives
  • Assess and grade student work, providing feedback to support student growth
  • Maintain classroom organization and appropriate classroom management
  • Communicate with students, staff, and parents as needed regarding student progress
  • Attend staff meetings and collaborate with faculty and administration
  • Support school events as appropriate


Qualifications

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, or a related field
  • Previous teaching or classroom experience with elementary or middle school students strongly preferred
  • Ability to plan engaging lessons
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and school leadership
  • Commitment to creating a supportive and positive learning environment


Schedule & Employment Details

  • Full-time schedule: Monday-Friday during the school day
  • Temporary leave replacement position
  • Not benefit eligible
  • Position duration aligned with the teacher’s leave period


Salary

$18 - $20 per hour
