POSITION SUMMARY

The High School English Teacher provides engaging and academically rigorous instruction in literature, writing, grammar, and communication skills while integrating a biblical worldview throughout the curriculum. The teacher creates a positive and structured classroom environment that supports student growth academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally.

As a Christian school ministry, MCA seeks educators who actively support and model the mission, values, and statement of faith of the school through their leadership, relationships, and classroom culture.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
  • Current teaching license preferred
  • Degree, endorsement, or demonstrated experience in English, Language Arts, Literature, Education, or related field
  • High school teaching experience preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans
  • Strong classroom management and relational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and staff

  • Demonstrate a personal Christian faith and lifestyle consistent with biblical principles
  • Be passionate about Christian education and spiritual mentorship of students
  • Ability to integrate faith naturally into instruction, student relationships, and classroom leadership
  • Must be an active member in good standing of Mannahouse or a like-minded church, including regular attendance, ministry involvement, and tithing


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach high school English courses using MCA curriculum and instructional standards
  • Develop engaging lessons in literature, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and communication
  • Foster critical thinking, creativity, and strong communication skills in students
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and Christ-centered classroom environment
  • Assess student progress and provide timely feedback and grading
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and school staff
  • Support students’ spiritual, social, emotional, and academic development
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, chapel services, and school events
  • Collaborate with administration and fellow faculty members to support school culture and student success

Compensation depends on education, licensure, and experience.

$40,000 - $55,000 per year
