The coach plays a vital role in helping students grow spiritually, emotionally, and physically through athletics while maintaining a commitment to academic excellence and biblical discipleship. MCA offers preschool through 12th grade and has been serving many local families and the larger Christian community. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous coaching experience at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level preferred.
  • Knowledge of the rules, techniques, and strategies of the sport.
  • Comfortable working with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • Ability to lead with integrity, humility, and professionalism.
  • Certified in CPR/First Aid and athletic safety training
  • Must pass a background check and complete all required school trainings.
  • Agreement with MCA Statement of Faith and commitment to its mission.
  • Must be an active member in good standing of Mannahouse or like-minded church, including consistent attendance, ministry participation, and tithing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and supervise all aspects of the sports program, including practices, games, and tournaments.
  • Create a spiritually enriching team culture grounded in biblical values, sportsmanship, and mutual respect.
  • Provide age-appropriate instruction that develops athletes' individual and team skills.
  • Administer grade checks with the support of the athletic department (HS) to support academic success.
  • Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school staff regarding schedules, expectations, and performance.
  • Maintain equipment, uniforms, and facilities related to the sport.
  • Ensure compliance with MCA athletic policies and OSAA/MCL regulations.
  • Attend coaches’ meetings, team events, and complete required professional development.
  • Serve as a spiritual leader and role model, consistently reflecting the character of Christ.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assures the practice and game environment for the team setting is healthy, positive, appropriate, and effective. Works cohesively with the assistant coaches and athletic director.
  • Performs daily duties and responsibilities in a timely, effective manner.
  • Communicates with the Athletic Director and parents regarding students in a timely, appropriate, and clear manner.

COMPENSATION

  • MS Coach - $800 stipend/season
  • HS Asst. Coach - up to $1,500 stipend/season
  • HS Head Coach - up to $3,000 stipend/season

$800 - $3,000 per year
