Job Description

The Mini Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students and school staff in a 14-passenger mini bus to and from school, field trips, athletic events, and other school-related activities. This role requires a strong commitment to student safety, professionalism, and compliance with all applicable state and federal transportation regulations in Oregon and Washington.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a 14-passenger mini bus in accordance with traffic laws and school policies
  • Transport students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and special events
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe vehicle environment
  • Ensure student safety during loading, unloading, and transit
  • Follow established routes and schedules, adjusting as needed for weather or traffic conditions
  • Maintain accurate trip logs and required documentation
  • Communicate professionally with school staff, parents, and students
  • Comply with all Oregon and Washington state transportation, safety, and school regulations

Qualifications

  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling
  • Valid driver’s license appropriate for operating a 14-passenger vehicle (CDL a plus!)
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to pass required background checks, fingerprinting, and drug/alcohol screening
  • Experience driving larger passenger vehicles preferred
  • Strong attention to safety and detail
  • Ability to interact positively and professionally with children and staff

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
  • Ability to assist students as needed during boarding and unloading
  • Ability to perform vehicle safety checks

Schedule

  • Hours may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends, depending on school needs and events

Salary

$17 - $17 per hour
