Manly Bands is growing our team and we are searching for a dynamic HR generalist to refine and grow the People function of our company. At Manly Bands, we value our people, strong processes, a great culture and fun. As our first ever full time People Person, you will play a crucial role in supporting recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compliance and a few other duties like supporting our CEO in working with some of our most exciting projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR policies and procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. This is an onsite position and is not open to remote working.

Description

What You’ll Do:

  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selection.
  • Coordinate new employee onboarding activities, including orientation sessions and paperwork completion.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Employee Relations:
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and resolution as needed.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or conflicts and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of employee relations initiatives to promote a positive work environment.
  • Performance Management:
  • Support the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development planning.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance-related matters.
  • Assist in the identification of training and development needs and coordinate training programs as required.
  • Benefits Administration:
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and benefits providers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Coordinate open enrollment activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • HR Administration and Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • HR Projects and Initiatives:
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement surveys, diversity and inclusion programs, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Manly Band leaders to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

What You’ll Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in HR roles, with a focus on HR generalist functions.
  • Solid understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Google Suite applications.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
