Position Summary

The Fatherhood Coach works directly with fathers to help them overcome barriers, strengthen their families, and become more stable, engaged, and present in their children’s lives.

The Fatherhood Coach will be based in Coshocton County, serving as a trusted local resource for fathers while developing strong relationships with the organizations and people already serving families in that community. Working under the Fatherhood Specialist, the Coach combines one-on-one fatherhood coaching with community outreach, referrals, and practical support.

Responsibilities

Father Engagement & Coaching

• Recruit and engage fathers through referrals, outreach, and community relationships.
• Assess each father’s strengths, needs, goals, and barriers and develop an individualized coaching plan.
• Provide consistent one-on-one coaching using Man Up’s fatherhood curriculum and coaching model.
• Help fathers navigate challenges involving parenting, employment, housing, child support, relationships, and other areas affecting family stability.
• Connect fathers with appropriate community resources and follow through to help ensure those connections are successful.
• Support fathers involved with Children Services as they work toward case-plan goals, family stability, and reunification.
• Encourage accountability, personal growth, and consistent engagement throughout the program.

Community Engagement

• Develop trusted relationships with Children Services, courts, churches, workforce organizations, service providers, and other community partners.
• Strengthen referral pathways so fathers can easily access Man Up and other available resources.
• Represent Man Up at community meetings, events, and collaborative gatherings as needed.
• Help identify local needs, resources, and opportunities that can improve services for fathers and families.

Team & Documentation

• Work closely with the Fatherhood Specialist to provide consistent, high-quality services across Coschocton County.
• Participate in supervision, case consultation, training, and team meetings.
• Maintain accurate participant documentation, outcomes, and required program data.

Experience & Qualifications

• Experience in social services, case management, ministry, mentoring, or related work with adults and families.
• Ability to build trust with men from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences.
• Strong knowledge of and relationships within Coshocton County.
• Experience with child welfare, fatherhood, reentry, recovery, or families experiencing significant challenges is a plus.
• Highly relational, dependable, organized, and comfortable working independently.
• Personal Christian faith and commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Man Up.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and availability for occasional evenings and weekends.
