MAKE Projects is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides critical social, communication and job readiness skills to both youth and adult participants in our restaurant and urban farm, located in the heart of North Park, San Diego. MAKE, which stands for Merging Agriculture Kitchens and Employment, is currently accepting applications for candidates interested in joining our team as a Case Manager.

You have worked in a social service or volunteer setting helping clients achieve social outcomes such as learning English, learning a new skill or interviewing for a job. You enjoy working in a team – collaborating within our organization and externally with community partners. Above all, you are committed to the service of our participants. You enjoy being organized and planning for success. You appreciate using the quiet parts of the day to update case notes in client files, input participant data, and refine project schedules and outcome reports. Academically, a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (education, social work, economics, or international development) is required. Candidates must be available to work Tuesday through Saturday, during regular business hours with a willingness to work evening hours occasionally. This is a hybrid position requiring at least 40% of the time working on-site at our North Park location.
What You’ll Do:
The Case Manager (CM) is a critical member of the MAKE Projects team. The CM provides direct services for all participant recruitment, job readiness training, MAKE Café onboarding/orientation, monitoring participant job performance, coaching for their success, and then, providing job placement services to all program graduates.
Reporting to the Executive Director (ED) and Deputy Director (DD), the CM will be responsible for drafting reports, and gather documentation and assessments for participant case files and outcome reporting. The CM will work closely with Employment Program/ESL volunteers.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a non-exempt position at $22-24/hour. All employees receive sick leave and retirement benefits. Full-time (30 hours and above) employees receive paid-time off, medical, dental, and vision benefits. Open to consideration of candidates interested in either a full-time or part-time schedule.
