Magic Moments Academy has 2 open Lead Infant Teacher positions, specifically for ages 3-18 months. The Lead Teacher role is essential in creating and maintaining a warm, safe, and nurturing environment, with developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in the classroom. The Lead Teacher is also responsible for providing instructional guidance for children and support team members who assist. The Lead Teacher will provide responsive care for children and model this for support staff, while maintaining daily routines and schedules. The Lead Teacher will create and execute age-appropriate lessons and care plans that support the growth and development of the children for this age group.

We are a licensed NYC early learning center that provides a stimulating and nurturing environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

The Work

Infants depend on adults for all of their needs. As educators and caregivers at Magic Moments Academy, we are responsible for providing supervision and care in a way that meets the individual needs of our youngest clients. Infant room educators and caregivers must meet the demands of this room with patience, kindness, warmth, and understanding.

Responsibilities


  • Maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment
  • Developing age and developmentally appropriate lesson plans
  • Establishing trusting and professional relationships with families and maintaining effective communication
  • Conducting and documenting child development observations
  • Providing supervisory communication with support teaching partners
  • Participating in parent-teacher conferences
  • Supporting school goals and following the mission statement
  • Providing responsive caregiving
  • Demonstrating age-appropriate behavior and language skills
  • Adhering to NYC DOHMH Article 47 guidelines
  • Organizing classroom materials
  • Working professionally within a team-based organization
  • Following instructions provided by lead teaching staff and/or director
  • Managing toileting and diaper changing
  • Communicating professionally with staff and parents

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong passion for early childhood education and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young children. Additionally, you should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
