Description

The Processor Clerk enters and reviews certificates of insurance to ensure they fall within specific agent limits and regulatory guidelines, that premiums are accurately assessed and collected, and billing or refunding is handled as necessary.


his role also assists insureds and agents with inquiries regarding the status of their coverage and any changes made to reports. Reports to the VP and APV of Credit Operations.


Responsibilities

  • Monthly entry of certificates of insurance via electronic or manual means, balancing information received against information reported
  • Review premium and fee calculation errors and refund calculation errors
  • Ensure certificates of insurance meet state requirements and fall within specified agent limits
  • Notify agents of changes made to data received, including notifying customers of declined, withdrawn, or amended policies
  • Monitor and follow up with agents for outstanding receivables, payables, or months of business not yet received
  • Additional duties may include month-end accounting, daily deposits, and other tasks as necessary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of related experience required
  • Strong math skills with the ability to follow algebraic formulas
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
