A LUCA Financial Operations Assistant supports our core business function of bookkeeping and financial accounting for our small business clients.

You can expect to work in a laid-back, flexible environment in our Mountain Brook, Alabama office space, or occasionally from one of the local co-working spaces or coffee shops when you need a change of scenery. All we ask for in return is someone who loves to work hard, and play even harder, as fits the occasion.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide exceptional account support services for our diversified portfolio of clients, including:
  • handle bank reconciliations, invoice processing, and expense transaction processing
  • manage or assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • prepare and file business license applications and renewals
  • manage or assist with payroll, new employees, and terminated employees
  • coordinate with clients on information requests
  • handle monthly and quarterly financial reports
  • perform other administrative support functions as needed
  • Work on special tasks and projects that will undoubtedly arise each week, including onboarding new clients and attending client meetings in a support role
  • Troubleshoot service-related problems, adapt to the needs of our clients, and recommend specialized solutions
  • As you become familiar with the needs of our clients, provide feedback to the team on what is working well and what improvements can be made
  • Build relationships with our clients and with us! We have personalities, really!

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business or completion of a certified bookkeeping course preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills
  • Exceptional attention to and love of detail and all things organized
  • Someone who is excited to grow with our start-up and is understanding of, and adaptable to, the entrepreneurial expressway
