Lot Sixteen is a bipartisan communications and lobbying firm looking for a Multimedia Designer to join our team — print and digital collateral, video and motion graphics, social content and more.
Lot Sixteen is looking for a Multimedia Designer to join a smart and strategic team of communications and government relations professionals. In this role, ownership of and accountability for the planning and executing of design-related work across a variety of platforms will be required.
We are a proactive bunch. We translate words into actions. We insist on knowing what we are talking about. We view the identification of a problem or task as only the first of many steps required to get results. We prioritize solutions, develop detailed work plans, secure approval to execute those plans, and get to work on implementation. We worry, so clients don’t have to. And we want this same approach from the person who takes this job.
We are focused on building an agency that feels like home, a team of friends who support each other as much as they challenge each other, and a client base whose trust and confidence in us is earned every day. At Lot Sixteen, we prioritize quality, smart thinking, and we actively work to cultivate a welcoming and challenging work environment. We provide or exceed all the standard work perks and expectations, including:
A multimedia designer at Lot Sixteen works across both of our practices — communications and government relations — turning strategy into materials that move audiences on Capitol Hill, in the agencies, and in the market.
Lot Sixteen cares about design and knows it’s a key ingredient to good and persuasive messaging. A one-pager is frequently the only thing a staffer reads before a markup, and a proposal is frequently the first piece of content a client will receive from us. We want the person making that content to be in the conversation, not just downstream of it. We’ll ask you what you think — of the layout, and of the point it’s making.
In practice, the work breaks down roughly as follows: half of it is new business proposals and static client collateral, a quarter is video and motion, and the remaining quarter is social and day-to-day content. The mix shifts week to week.
You will be responsible for:
This role reports to a Vice President on our communications team, with creative direction from one of the co-founders. We are a hybrid firm: we ask everyone to be in the office three days a week, and you choose which three.
You are most likely to thrive in this role if you have at least some experience at an agency or multi-client work and or have worked in the DC issues and advocacy space. We care less about where or how long you went to school than we do about how eager you are to continue learning. Equally important: a willingness to admit what you don’t know and go find the answers.
What you'll need:
Helpful, but not required:
A note on qualifications: If you meet most of what’s above, apply anyway. We’ll consider any equivalent combination of skills and experience, and we care more about your portfolio and experience than anything else.
This role is open at the Senior Associate or Director level depending on experience, with a salary range of $65,000 to $120,000. Title and starting salary will be set based on portfolio, years of relevant experience. Candidates with significant agency leadership experience may be considered at a more senior level. Compensation also includes health and dental coverage, a retirement savings program with company match, and commuter benefits.
