As a 2027 Summer Associate, you will be immersed in the day-to-day practice of law, gaining hands-on experience across our firm's core practice areas. You will work closely with partners and associates on active matters, receiving realistic exposure to the legal profession. This role is designed to help you develop practical skills, contribute to strategic legal solutions, and seamlessly transition from a law student to a practicing attorney.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive legal research on complex substantive and procedural issues.
- Draft a variety of legal documents, including memorandums, motions, briefs, and client correspondence.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Attend and observe depositions, court appearances, and client meetings alongside senior counsel to gain practical insight.
- Analyze and review discovery materials, contracts, and other case-critical documents.
- Collaborate with legal teams to brainstorm case developments, strategies, and solutions.
- Participate actively in the firm's summer training programs, practice group meetings, and networking events.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled and in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school (anticipated graduation class of 2028).
- Strong academic record demonstrating excellence in coursework.
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, ethical standards, and eagerness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Top 15% Class Ranking
- Participation in Law Review, Moot Court, Mock Trial, or specialized legal clinics.
- Demonstrated interest in business law, commercial litigation, or the firm’s core practice areas.
- Existing ties to the Central Florida area or a genuine desire to build a long-term career in Orlando.
