We are seeking a seasoned Senior Labor and Employment Associate to join our team and contribute to our continued success.


Job Overview: As a Senior Labor and Employment Associate, you will play a pivotal role in advising and representing companies and management on a wide range of labor and employment matters. You will work closely with clients across various industries, providing strategic legal counsel, handling complex litigation, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to clients on labor and employment issues, including wage and hour laws, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and workplace safety.
  • Represent clients in labor and employment litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to stay abreast of the latest developments in labor and employment law.
  • Manage and coordinate all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.
  • Draft and review employment contracts, policies, handbooks, and other employment-related documents.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Conduct internal investigations and audits related to employment practices.
  • Provide training and education to clients on labor and employment law topics.
  • Mentor and supervise junior associates and support staff.
  • Participate in business development activities to expand the firm's labor and employment practice.


Qualifications:


  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida state bar and in good standing. Preferable admission or familiarity with California state bar and California law.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a strong focus on litigation.
  • Proven track record of handling complex labor and employment litigation matters.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with class and collective actions.
  • Background in providing training and conducting internal investigations.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management.
