Job Overview: As an Intellectual Property Partner, you will be responsible for managing and growing our IP practice, with a focus on antipiracy enforcement and trademark portfolio management. You will provide strategic legal counsel to clients, develop and implement enforcement strategies, and oversee the management of extensive trademark portfolios. Your role will also involve business development and mentoring junior attorneys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the firm’s intellectual property practice, focusing on antipiracy enforcement and trademark portfolio management.
- Develop and implement comprehensive antipiracy strategies to protect clients' intellectual property rights.
- Provide strategic advice on trademark registration, maintenance, and enforcement.
- Represent clients in IP litigation, including antipiracy actions and trademark disputes.
- Conduct legal research and stay current on developments in IP law, particularly related to piracy and trademark issues.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business goals and develop tailored IP strategies.
- Manage and coordinate global trademark portfolios, including filings, renewals, and oppositions.
- Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Develop and implement business development strategies to attract new clients and expand the practice.
- Participate in firm leadership and contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the firm.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in intellectual property law, with a focus on antipiracy enforcement and trademark portfolio management.
- Proven track record of handling complex IP litigation and managing extensive trademark portfolios.
- Expertise in federal and international IP laws, particularly related to piracy and trademarks.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- LLM. in Intellectual Property or related field.
- Board certification in intellectual property law.
- Active involvement in professional organizations related to intellectual property law.
- Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management.
