The Registered Apheresis Nurse will function under the guidance of an attending physician, and in accordance with established standard operating procedures. This hire will report into HemaCenter’s attending physician and be responsible for donor screening and collection visits. The candidate must possess clinical knowledge and skills related to apheresis procedures and demonstrate the ability to quickly assess and perform in stressful and emergency situations.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct donor enrollment and collection appointments following HemaCenter SOP's and complying with FDA Regulations, IRB and cGMP requirements where applicable
- Assesses patients' responses to apheresis making appropriate adjustments and modifications to the collection as indicated by the attending physician.
- Communicate problems or concerns to the Collection Site Manager, attending physician, and other Apheresis Nursing staff as indicated.
- Accurately documents all pertinent information in the donor’s medical charts, as needed
- Administer medications within the scope of practice and HemaCenter’s policies and procedures.
- Perform physical examination: assess, evaluate, interpret, and document the donor’s physical and mental status.
- Complete appropriate training programs related to patient care and staff safety
- Professionally interact with donors and staff to assure the donor experience is a safe, efficient, and enjoyable process
- Maintain donor confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
Primary Job Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (R.N.) or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Science. A current Florida RN license is required.
- Candidate should have thorough knowledge in operating medical equipment utilized in apheresis procedures and administering emergency care. Certification in Apheresis Nursing is highly encouraged.
- Minimum 3-5 years RN experience, apheresis experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrates organizational and time management skills, and a competency toward completing continuing and ongoing apheresis education.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred
