Jr. Stylist Pay

First 90 Days

• Commission Rate 50/50

After 90 Days 

• Transition to a Sliding Scale Commission Stylist 
• 60% - 40% of Service Sales + Tips
• 65% - 35% of Service Sales + Tips 
• 70% - 30% of Service Sales + Tips
• 1099 Contracted Employee
• Weekly Direct Deposit

• A Stylist with a passion for locs, healthy hair care practices and continuing education.

• Willing to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Physical requirements of this position include: standing / walking for sustained periods of time, lifting up to 10 pounds / continuous repetitive movement with fingers, hands, wrists and arms, and continuous grasping and reaching / Continually required to bend, stoop, and talk
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

Skill Requirements

• Shampoo Service
• Beginner Comb Retwist Skills - 4+ Comb Retwists / shift
• Beginner Starter Loc Skills
• Beginner Loc Styling Skills
• Experience with all other Loc Services is a plus.

Position Job Duties:

• Maintain a positive attitude and contribute towards a quality work environment
• Be on time for shift
• Perform services within time standards
• In uniform, and meeting hair and make up standards
• Follow our salon standards for services, behavior and general workflow
• Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training clients in these areas
• Keep a clean & hygienic work space
• Service clients within Locs of Love standards for quality of service and time standards
• Develop professional relationships with regular clients & welcome new clients
• Assist fellow stylists with services during downtown to ensure no wait time for clients
• Communicate effectively with Salon Receptionist  about service pricing and client notes
• Participate in creating content with the social media team for salon marketing
• Keep up to date & innovative with the latest styles & trends for locs
• Offer quality shampoo experiences
• Offer client service Redo’s at no-charge
• Maintain a consistent, regular attendance record
• Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product
• Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the salon’s policies and procedures
• Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or clients in the salon that require attention
• Maintain complete confidentiality in all client matters in accordance with company policy
• Handle client questions and concerns professionally
• Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by clients ensuring complete client satisfaction
• Possess the ability to work without direct supervision
• Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the salon
• Assist in all areas of salon operations, as requested by management
• Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the salon
