Responsibilities:

• Perform testing, commissioning, and maintenance of low, medium, high voltage electrical equipment, including but not limited to transformers, switchgear, power cables, circuit breakers, grounding systems. 
• Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting of complex electrical systems in low, medium, high-voltage substations. 
• Lead and mentor junior technicians, providing on-the-job training and guidance. 
• Develop and track project-specific documentation, including test reports, equipment data sheets, and compliance records. 
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to identify, troubleshoot, resolve problems to ensure project goals are met on time and within scope. 
• Ensure adherence to safety standards (OSHA, NEC) and company safety policies, including completing safety analysis of job tasks. 
• Maintain strong client relationships, providing excellent customer service and acting as the primary point of contact for service projects. 
• Prepare detailed technical reports and communicate findings and recommendations to customers and the management team. 
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices
• Travel to client sites as required (up to 50%), within assigned region (based out of Albany, NY)
• Other duties as required 

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or technical certification in Electrical Technology or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience in electrical testing, commissioning, and maintenance in low, medium, high-voltage systems. 
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license; Certifications in electrical testing or safety standards (e.g., OSHA 30, NFPA 70E) preferred.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals, low, medium, and high-voltage electrical systems, protective relays, and switchgear. Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC), NESC, and other industry standards. 
• Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading service teams and training junior technicians. 
• Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to multitask and manage time effectively. 

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs., work outdoors in various weather conditions, and work in confined spaces. Must be able to perform physical labor including climbing ladders, standing for extended periods of time, drive regularly, fly regularly. Must be able to perform work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to use hand tools and power tools  
• NETA Level III certification
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Leadership experience and ability to oversee junior technicians
• Commitment to safety and compliance with regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed (based in Albany, NY or Northeast Region)
• Must be able to work legally in the US.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
