*Pending experience, this position could be filled as Assistant Winemaker or Cellar Hand.
Cellar & Harvest Operations:
- Assist with day-to-day cellar operations as assigned by the Winemaker including but not limited to: rackings, sampling and analysis, fermentation management, barrel work, etc.
- Help process all incoming fruit [recording weights, hand-sorting, crushing/de-stemming, pressing, etc]
- Help clean and maintain all winery equipment [press, pumps, crusher, etc]
- If forklift certified, operate the forklift safely & according to company policy
Winery Maintenance & Organization:
- Assist in bottling and labeling to clear out cellar prior to harvest
- Help maintain the general cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of the winery
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, compliance regulations, liquor laws, inspections, and audits
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year's previous experience in a cellar hand or harvest intern role
- Due to timeline, must already have authorization to work in the U.S.
- Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with the winemaking and tasting room teams
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work on one’s feet for extended periods of time
- Ability to work long hours while maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to work both independently with some supervision and amongst a team
- Reliable transportation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve and manage time effectively
- Experience with / certificate to operate a forklift
