A Staff Childcare Specialist at Little Peach Pediatric Therapy is primarily responsible for providing attentive, nurturing care that helps our staff’s little ones feel safe, seen, and supported every single day. This role brings developmental awareness and genuine warmth together: fostering early communication, movement, learning through play, and showing up every day for the children and families we serve. A Childcare Specialist plays an essential role in our multidisciplinary community, and their primary role is to create an environment where our staff’s children can thrive.

Description
What You'll Do
- Provide attentive, nurturing care for infants, toddlers, and occasional school-aged children throughout the day
- Support children's developmental growth by encouraging early communication and language skills, promoting gross and fine motor development through age-appropriate activities, and weaving developmental milestones into daily routines
- Engage children through structured play, sensory activities, and interactive learning that is intentional and joyful
- Facilitate daily reading time: reading aloud, encouraging book engagement, and supporting early pre-reading skills like page turning, sound exploration, and cause-and-effect understanding
- Incorporate your personal talents and interests: music, art, or movement, and turn them into activities that spark curiosity and connection
- Plan and maintain a daily routine that includes meals and snacks, naps, structured play, and developmental activities
- Get on the children's physical level during play to build trust, engagement, and a genuine relationship
- Create daily reflections or reports for each child to document progress, routines, and needs
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stimulating environment, including:
- Daily disinfecting of toys, play equipment, teething items, and high-touch surfaces
- Safe sleep practices for infants in line with SIDS prevention guidelines
- Daily safety checks of cribs, high chairs, and play equipment
- Proper handwashing for both staff and children before meals, after diapering, and after outdoor play
- Safe food handling, labeled bottles, and proper storage of cleaning supplies and medications
- Immediate reporting of any safety or maintenance concerns
- Actively supervise children at all times. No screen time, no personal phone use during care (photos for parents are always welcome, scrolling is not)
- Collaborate with parents and leadership to align care strategies with each child's developmental goals
- Contribute to clinic initiatives during downtime, such as nap times, including content creation, family resources, blog posts, and more

- Previous childcare experience is required, and a background in early childhood education or child development is a bonus
Qualifications
- Previous childcare experience required (nannying, daycare, or early childhood setting)
- Knowledge of — or genuine willingness to learn — developmental milestones for infants and toddlers
- Ability to create and follow structured routines while remaining adaptable
- Strong communication skills for engaging with both children and parents
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start)
- Background in early childhood education, child development, or a related field preferred but not required
- Dependable, attentive, and capable of managing multiple children at once with calm and confidence
