The Insurance Verification and Collections Specialist is primarily responsible for keeping our billing operations accurate, organized, and moving. This role ensures that claims are verified, followed up on, and resolved so our clinicians can stay focused on the families who need them most. The Insurance Verification and Collections Specialist plays a central role in maintaining the financial health of our clinic by participating in the billing cycle, from insurance verification to unpaid balance follow-up, with precision and confidence.

Our billing team ensures that our team members are free from the weight of administrative uncertainty, because when the details are handled well, our clinicians can pour everything they have into their work. Through your role of verifying coverage, managing claim denials and precertification requests, and following up on balances, you help protect the resources that make our mission possible.
What You’ll Do
- Verify insurance for new patients and update patient records with accurate coverage information
- Send patient responsibility payment quotes to new patients ahead of their evaluations
- Manage rejected and unpaid claims: investigate, document, and follow up until they're resolved
- Monitor patient billing accounts and proactively follow up on outstanding balances
- Manage BCBS and Tricare precertifications and authorizations
- Conduct monthly Medicaid eligibility verifications to ensure continued active status
- Contribute during clinical development time: think helpful parent resources, social content, blog support, and assist if team members need help
Who You Are
- You have previous experience in medical collections, preferably in a therapy or pediatric setting. Experience in a pediatric setting is a bonus!
- You are detail-oriented and task-driven: nothing slips through the cracks on your watch
- You are self-motivated and goal-oriented: as tasks come up day-to-day, you never lose sight of the big picture
- You are confident and professional on the phone: whether you're following up with an insurance company on an unpaid claim or reaching out to a family about a balance, you handle those conversations with clarity and care
- You bring strong organizational skills and can manage multiple follow-up timelines at once
- You are a team player who genuinely cares about the mission behind the work
- You can pass a background check, a reference check, and a drug screening
