Our therapy team is the heartbeat of our clinic. Through your role of implementing, supporting, and collaborating, you'll directly shape the developmental trajectories of children across Central Alabama. Every session, every goal, every home plan you send home is a ripple effect, and we can't wait to see the impact you'll make.
What You'll Do
- Implement occupational therapy activities as directed by your supervising Occupational Therapist (OTR/L)
- Carry out individualized treatment plans and goals developed by the supervising OTR/L, bringing energy and intention to every session
- Provide direct therapy services in a clinic-based setting, grounded in evidence-based strategies and under OTR/L supervision
- Collect and record accurate session data to track and monitor patient progress
- Communicate with families and caregivers, including progress updates and home plans to support carryover — because what happens between sessions matters just as much
- Collaborate with therapy team members to deliver cohesive, interdisciplinary care
- Follow supervision guidelines and maintain clear, consistent communication with your supervising OTR/L
- Monitor client progress and support appropriate discharge planning
- Refer clients to additional professionals as clinically indicated
- Complete documentation in a timely manner:
- Daily notes: due within 24 hours of the appointment
- Evaluations & re-evaluations: due within 2 weeks of the evaluation date
- Discharges: due within 2 weeks of the last appointment
- Tidy, disinfect, and maintain your treatment space and shared clinic areas between sessions
- Supervise students as applicable
- Maintain your Alabama OTA license, NBCOT certification, and all continuing education requirements
