As a Pediatric OTR at Little Peach, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary staff including physical therapists, speech therapists, and behavioral health providers. Primary Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and assess the physical and developmental abilities of children ages infant - 18 through observation and standardized tests
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluations and specific diagnoses
  • Provide hands-on therapy to improve functional skills such as fine motor coordination, strength, sensory processing, posture, activities of daily living, and more within the scope of practice.
  • Use play-based and age-appropriate interventions to engage children in therapy
  • Educate families, caregivers, and other healthcare providers on exercises and care routines to continue progress at home
  • Supervise and guide occupational therapy assistants (COTAs) in executing treatment plans, ensuring adherence to established protocols and best practices
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (e.g., physical therapists, speech therapists, pediatricians).
  • Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Document treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes in compliance with healthcare regulations and company policies


Qualifications

  • Doctorate or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Alabama OT license (or eligibility for licensure)
  • NBCOT Certification
  • Previous experience in pediatric settings is preferred but not required
  • Ability to pass background check, reference check, and drug screening
  • Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
  • A patient, energetic, and professional demeanor
