Professional Land Surveyor & Surveying Manager

 

Lion CSG is implementing a succession plan to engage a Professional Land Survyor & Surveying Manager to work with our current PLS who is transitioning to retirement in the next year.  We have a strategic plan to dovetail responsibilities and ensure a handoff with support over time.  Our company focus is on large infrastructure projects with topographic surveys, construction stakeout, and as-built surveys.  Easements and property survey is necessary on some projects – we do not focus on boundary surveys/ALTA surveys.  Our focus is on large linear infrastructure work. We are flexible with hours and work location.  Benefits include health insurance and 401K with matching contributions. 

 

Job Title: Surveying Manager

Hours: Flexible

Salary: $110,000-130,000 based on experience

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and manage 1 LSI, 2 field crews and 2 CAD staff
• Large infrastructure projects for linear work
• Assist in fee development
• Ensure technical accuracy.
• Serve as primary PLS—overseeing scope, schedules, and crew coordination.
• Review and approve topographic, right-of-way, and construction surveys; ensure all deliverables meet applicable standards and regulations.
• Mentor LSI, field crews, and CAD staff providing technical guidance and quality oversight.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering.
• Drive process improvements in field data collection, QA/QC procedures, and digital workflows (e.g., Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center).

Requirements

• Active Missouri Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.
• Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS, Robotic Total Stations, and digital field-to-finish workflows.
• Demonstrated success managing project teams and client relationships.
• Strong command of technical documentation, legal descriptions, and regulatory compliance.
