Job Summary
Lily Pad Child & Adolescent Counseling is seeking a warm, playful, and highly compassionate Play Therapist to join our growing private practice as a W2 employee. This role is part-time or full-time, with a minimum caseload of 10 sessions per week as part-time or 25+ a week for full-time. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children, teens, and parents, and is grounded in child-centered play therapy.

Education & Licensure
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work, or related mental health field (required)
- Active Texas license as LPC, LMFT, or LCSW (or eligible associates: LPC-Associate, LMFT-Associate, LMSW with clinical supervision)
- Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential preferred, or working toward RPT status
- Open to applicants graduating in the Spring/ Summer 2025 with coursework in play therapy/ play therapy experience in internship!
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children (internship hours may count)
- Experience with play therapy (ideally CCPT)
- Experience collaborating with parents or caregivers in the therapeutic process
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong foundation in child development
- Ability to engage children and teens in non-directive play therapy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—especially with parents
- Openness to feedback, supervision, and collaborative teamwork
- Commitment to cultural humility, inclusivity, and neurodiversity-affirming care
- Organizational skills to manage case notes, scheduling, and treatment planning in a timely manner
Primary Job Duties
- Provide individual play therapy and counseling to children and adolescents
- Maintain a caseload of at least 10 clients per week for part time; 25+ for full time
- Complete all required documentation (intakes, notes, treatment plans) in a timely and ethical manner
- Collaborate with parents/caregivers as clinically appropriate
- Attend team meetings, consultation, and supervision as needed
